SAVE our Maple Valley/Covington community from INDUSTRIAL POT GROWING OPERATION!
King County has issued a commercial site development permit to allow two 20,000 square feet warehouses to be built in a rural area of Maple Valley/Covington. The only access to the warehouses is 200th Ave SE, a narrow substandard road that is lined with single family homes and small farms. This facility is completely surrounded by RA5 properties. (rural designation).
These HUGE warehouses will be used to grow and produce marijuana. This type of operation in our community severely jeopardizes our safety, property values, and our family oriented way of life.
Over two years our small neighborhood has been actively involved fighting King County Department of Permitting & Environmental Review. We need the community's help fighting this battle. Our only legal recourse is to file a LUPA appeal (Land Use Petition Act). The anticipated legal cost of the LUPA is $120,000.
Within a short distance of this marijuana production facility is Tahoma High School (which will become a middle school in the fall), 2 churches, & Tahoma National Cemetery (as referenced on the map).
