Student-led nonprofit for STEM career development

Hi my name is Britt Knight. I am a leader of a volunteer-led group called Beyond the Ph.D. (formally known as Academia-Industry Opportunities Group) that works to provide career development, networking, and internships for trainees in STEM-related fields. We acknowledge that careers in STEM have boomed and that the number of students in STEM is increasing. However, what is also apparent is that trainees are often wondering what their career options are. We established this group to provide FREE resources through seminars, workshops, and events to undergraduate and graduate students to help connect students with professionals in various fields both within academia and beyond. We are seeking help financing ($1000) the paperwork to file to become a 503(c) nonprofit organization to provide paid internships, create and acquire robust career resources to share with trainees, support college programs, and pay the professionals that donate their time to attend our events and meet our community.
