Fund for hand tricycle for handicap

I have never done anything like this before. I met a young man (25) at the YMCA where we work out together. He is handicapped and has little to no use of his legs. At the gym today we got to talking and I mentioned that I ride a recumbent tricycle. I showed him a picture of my trike and he went bananas. He asked if the made a model with hand cranks and I told him yes. I had seen some. He wondered what something like that would cost and I told him between 4-5000$. The light drained from his eyes as he told me he could never afford such a thing. Well, I felt just awful . It was suggested that I look into Go Fund Me, so here I am.

I went ahead and researched a trike and found what I was looking for. A GreenSpeed Hand Magnum Trike. The cost new is 4300$ and I figure with shipping I would need 5000$ in order to get this to him.

He has no idea that I am doing this as if I fail, I don't want to let him down any further. This kid has gotten a pretty bad shake in life and I know what a lift this would be. To be able to get out of his wheelchair and ride in the pack would be so awesome to see. I also know the feeling of joy it would bring to me and all of you who donate and would go a long way for us all.
