I am Chloé-Ana, a nineteen year old Jamaican international student studying in the US. I am currently majoring in Multimedia Management with a 3.5 Cumulative GPA at Saint Leo University.
I have been having some trouble funding my college education as my mother is a single parent. I have applied for scholarships at my university and otherwise, but unfortunately, I have not received any. I am unable to continue with my degree as I have an oustanding balance with the university. As an international student, there are really limited resources provided for us.
Things have been really tolling for me, worrying constantly about my education and whether or not I will be able to continue and earn my degree.
It is my biggest dream to inspire those in positions similar to mine, to help them to understand the value of hard work and having to earn what you want in life. I want to be able to be an inspiration for those who silently suffer with mental illnesses, self harm and also anxiety while in college and throughout childhood. Too many times it is overlooked and I have experienced that first hand. Nothing worthwhile comes easy and I believe the struggles I have had to face throughout my life have been shaping who I am becoming and I hope that I will be able to continue on this journey. This would be of great help to my mother who is my only support.
This money will greatly assist my mother in covering the debt owed to the school and I will be able to continue with my degree.
