My name is Mario and I am originally from Ecuador. I moved to the US in 2009 as any other immigrant seeking better opportunities that were not available in my home country. I left everything that was known to me for a complete new world and experience. I had my very first job as an overnight stock associate at a retail store where I met many good people that were understanding and they had to deal with my lack of English (Thank You for your patience). After that experience, it was clear that I had to learn English and achieve my dreams of a college education.
The -Better Opportunities- came my way, and I was able to attend University and earn my Bachelor's Degree from Southern Connecticut State University. During my student career, and due to my good college standing, I was inducted into the different honor societies (Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honor Society). I was also awarded a Scholarship by the Alumni Association at my school, and the Science and Research Scholarship of the Land Baden-Württemberg directly from Germany to study abroad at the University of Mannheim in the Fall of 2015. I was in the Dean's List multiple times for excellent academic performance including the Fall 2016 when life put me in the most difficult situation I've ever lived which was losing my number one supporter, my mom.
My mom was always my motivation for all the things that I have achieved and my supporter for my educational journey. Not having her with me is taking me to humbly seek your support to achieve this stage of my dream and make it a reality by helping me attend this Master Program in Spain.
I was accepted into a “Master of International Business at University Carlos Tercero of Madrid”. I have to make an initial payment of EURO €1,000 (USD $ 1180 US Dollar) in order to reserve my spot within the next 7 days, and the remaining balance is split in two other payments. The program has a total Tuition & Fees cost of EURO € 6600 which converted into USD is $ 7761.57. The program has a duration of 2 semesters plus internship. The first semester will be done online in the US to give me the flexibility to work and save money and then go to Madrid for the second semester, and for the internship phase.

This program is important to me because it is part of a dream that I've had for a long time. I am a mixed person with a Chinese background who grew up in a Latino country, studied in the USA and lived in Europe for 5 months. I consider myself an international person and International Business is a field that interests me on all levels. This program will also help me increase my opportunities to land a more permanent and stable job in a world where qualifications like a Master's Program are becoming the norm. After the completion of the program, I will be focusing on the establishment of businesses at an international level. My future career will involve consultancy and international & digital marketing which are areas that will enable me to achieve those goals for businesses who are struggling to stay competitive and relevant in today’s competitive world.
I am taking the #GoFundMe route because this University does not take part on the US Financial Aid System - Leaving me this crowdfunding alternative as my only option.
