SIS'TAH TALK PRIDE

My name is Shareese Carmella Mone and I am proud to focus on giving my best efforts to providing opportunities to the TRANS Women of Washington DC and the L.G.B.T.Q.A. community. As I share my passion with others, in a fight to make the community a better space and resolve some Understanding, while learning to Understand Others.

Trans is ever evolving and to me means that I am Human. I want to Empower the TRANS Community, advocate for our rights as human beings, and support the families of our fallen SIS'TAH's. SIS'TAH Talk Groups are held at The DC Center every third Wednesday of each month. We talk about housing, employment, health issues relating to HIV/AIDS, Hormonal Therapy, as well as the stages of transitioning.

Our group will be continuing its efforts to raise awareness for the Trans community this summer by attending various Trans Pride events. In order to do this and reach as many folks as possible we are trying to raise $3,000 to help purchase Trans Pride shirts for our group as well our supporters. Wearing these shirts will allow folks in the Trans community to feel a sense of empowerment, acceptance, and respect.
