The Makeover - a film

Donation protected
Three years in the making and thousands of hours later, the filmmakers, Sarah Park & Jane Pittman, have produced a 38-minute documentary-short with no funding to date because well ... how could we not bring to the big screen the remarkable transgender partnership of Jizz and Beth?  For the film to be released for distribution, we need $15,000 to cover costs, including but not limited to the original music score; post-audio sound mixing; digital mastering.  This is where you come in: we need and would be most grateful for your support, large or small and, we promise to proudly and gratefully acknowledge your contribution.

Why tell this story:
Telling this story is important. Surveys show that while strides have been made in media representation, Transgender people continue to be misunderstood by loved ones; discriminated against by potential partners, and by others in the LGBT community--half of whom said they would not date someone who is trans.  While progress has been made, transitioning remains a last resort because it often includes losing a job, losing a family, risking a relationship or marriage, and having to start life anew and alone, possibly never to date again.

This is a story of hope and promise as we follow Jizz and Beth's unlikely relationship, combined with relating and relating to each others’ experiences and dreams as Jizz transitions from Tom to Jizz (male to female) with Beth stalwartly by Jizz's side; a feeling of shared experience, support, and love characterize this couple who explore life unabashedly despite social pressures to conceal their relationship.  It's a relationship with its own rules and morals and dramatic rhythm which, to many, would seem hopelessly unrealistic in present-day society.  Here, it plays with the intersections of real drama and the kind contrived within the thrill of modern living with its arbitrary set of “socio-moral” restrictions. Beth and Jizz are a modern day example of a love that knows no bounds,  transcending societal norms, they stand as a beacon for what can be possible.

A blurb about the film (synopsis):
The Makeover is a distinctly traditional love story set in a decidedly non-traditional milieu of BDSM and shifting gender. Tom is an aging, conservative policy wonk, in private known as Jizzelle La Creme. He meets Elizabeth Taylor, once a nuclear power instructor with the U.S. Navy, but now a photographer and makeup artist who sees hundreds of trans clients per year. Together this unlikely couple transform one another into what they most want to be: man, woman, sometimes both; mistress, submissive, also sometimes both.

Herein lie the outstanding costs:
Original music score ($10,000)
Post-audio mixing ($3,000)
Digital mastering ($1,250)
Marketing, licensing and advertising ($3,750)
