Stone Family Thomas Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected

We have lost our home and belongings, and business to the Thomas Fire on Dec 4th. We had just moved here and had invested all of our money into our temporary home which burned to the ground the night we parked it.
Story:
We (Skylar Stone & Heather Collier) just moved to Ventura County from Mount Shasta, CA and we owned our home but we did not yet have insurance on it. We had just parked our RV on a friend’s land (whose house also burnt down) on Sisar Road in Ojai, CA merely an hour before we had to evacuate that night. The road could only be accessed with a 4x4 vehicle and several locked gates, so with our lives in danger we didn’t have time to load our trailer back up, or grab our belongings. We barely made it out of the dirt road before it was taken over by fire. We spent the next days and weeks in several evacuation spots wearing the same clothes. Skylar returned to where our home was to find nothing left, all burnt to ashes along with the surrounding forest and other homes & cabins. We did not own the land where our trailer was parked and so we can’t rebuild a home like many others can with their insurance. We had a full kitchen with oven, fridge, sinks, bathroom with shower, big comfy organic mattress, quality organic clothing, cabinets full of all Organic tinctures, supplements, foods, & bath items.
Things like clothing, food, bedding, kitchenware, medicines, bathroom items, electronics, etc. were left behind, along with my collection of artwork in sketchbooks and jewelry making supplies, and business materials totaling thousands of dollars. Also left behind were things like wooden handmade bowls from a father, artwork and gifts from multiple passed away friends, a necklace from a passed away grandfather.

This tragedy has been extremely devastating and traumatic and stressful, but we are grateful to be intact and alive along with our dog.
I have itemized our total losses at $15,750.
Donations deposit directly into our bank account. We have already spent donations received this far on food, medicine, clothes/shoes, housing, gas, phone bills, car insurance & registration. We are still struggling to get back on our feet.

We now have a safe place to stay and Skylar has been able to return to work after missing several weeks due to cancellations. I haven’t been able to return to work because most of my jewelry supplies have been burned to ashes, along with sketchbooks full of ideas, business and shipping supplies.

We need to get Skylar on a plane to visit his son; he had to cancel his flight a couple days after the fire began on Dec. 4th. We also still need to get him a lawyer for his custody case in one month, but we can’t afford it now.

We only got to be homeowners for about two months before everything burned down. This has been a huge setback in our lives and will take months or years to get back to normal.

Thank you for your time reading this and for anything you can offer, we so graciously appreciate it. ~~~ **If anyone needs verification that this is all true, it can be supplied. We have been under heavy attack of false accusations of scammery. We truly lost our home and we are on at least 7 Verified lists of people who lost their homes throughout the county**
