Eaklor Family Medical Fund

Dr. Vicki Eaklor is a longtime Professor of History and a leading scholar of LGBTQ history. She authored a text in the field, is a past chair and board member of the Committee on LGBT history, and has been at the forefront fighting for LGBTQ rights, both locally and nationally.  For the past 18 months Dr. Eaklor has been fighting cancer.  She was diagnosed with rectal cancer in March 2015.  Following radiation and surgery, she was cancer free for several months only to be diagnosed with liver cancer in August 2016. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will likely have to undergo surgery following that treatment. Incredibly, her partner is also undergoing treatment for a rare, aggressive cancer that may require travel overseas for more advanced treatments than are available here! This has taken an enormous physical, emotional, and financial toll on the family. There is only so much we can do to help, but alleviating some of the medical expenses will go a long way toward supporting all aspects of their health.
