Yesterday I got an email about a girl who died of a heroin overdose. She was twenty.
I don't ever want to get an email like that again.
It's time.
Time to build a foundation around the living.
Many believe addiction attacks the weak. But, it's the opposite, it attacks the strong. Brains drugged by a chemical require treatment, just as cancer requires treatment. It's no different. The disease is brutal, taking the lives of many, but many live daily, battling to win. Money, power and strength are needed for families fighting addiction. They need encouragement, understanding and financial help as they choose life, choose treatment and choose hope.
The Noah Strong Foundation is that.
Built upon my son, Noah, age twenty, who battled two open-heart surgeries to save his life from his heroin addiction, The Noah Strong Foundation will dedicate money, time, and direction to families struggling to keep an addict alive. Noah Strong will aid in funding those who can't afford to send their child to rehab.
With the money raised so far, I've hired an attorney, Mollie Cullinane of Cullinane Law Group, to start the Noah Strong Foundation. The remainder of the monies will be used to further the development of Noah Strong. Scholarships will be set up for those in need of financial assistance.
