Support the Beloved Community

The Beloved Community is a volunteer-run organization that builds inclusive community for young adults with intellectual and developmental disability by uncovering gifts & opportunity for contribution, building awareness of disability justice, growing through relationship & shared experience, and connecting the community through arts, conversations & civic engagement.

Though we lost funding in July of 2017, we have continued to build inclusive community through people’s generous gifts of their time, creative energy, and support. Please help us continue this work and expand our capacity over the next year.

Here’s how we can use your financial support:
$4—Sponsor a young adult’s transportation to/from a community building event

$6 – Help keep our communal gathering space stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap

$10 – It’s not all work and no play, sponsor a fun community-building activity: bowling, film, theater, etc.

$15 – Fund a volunteer’s participation in a Civitan civic engagement meeting

$25 – Help us host a public transit training with the young adults by sponsoring the bus passes for participants

$30 – Donate art supplies for a collaborative art project such as our past mural, sculptural, & paper-making workshops.

$40– Support civic engagement through enabling us to provide stipends for young adults conducting a playground occupancy evaluation in partnership with the City of Las Cruces

$50 – Strength community ties by enabling us to provide participant stipends for asset-mapping in our neighborhood through learning conversations w/churches & associations

$50-  Provide a person-centered planning workshop to discover and support the capacities and future dreams of one of the Beloved Community young adults 

$75-  Empower artistic expression by providing a stipend for a local artist to hosts a 2hr collaborative art workshop for us

$100- Empower community learning by sponsor a Learning Circle series to educate folks on disability justice & support

$150- Empower young adults by helping us sponsor a workshop on Identity & Disability Pride

$300- Help us host a Great Conversation in Las Cruces
