This photo was taken on May 15, my last day of treatment for Triple Negative Breast Cancer at Sloan Kettering. There's a tradition of ringing a bell when you're done with your final treatment. It had been a rough eight months of chemo, surgery and radiation - but we did it! There is no evidence of cancer left in my body. I have some lingering effects of chemo and radiation that need continued care at MSK but it's not cancer-scary. I'll be fine on that front, too. I was supposed to get back to work full time on April 23rd, after I'd recovered from surgery. Unfortunately I found out today that there is no job to go back to. It was a big hit; I was really looking forward not only the paycheck and continued health insurance, but also the return to my normal routine. I'd budgeted out my savings to last me until the time I expected to return to work in April. Sadly, that was 6 weeks ago and I'm behind in all my bills and facing some unexpected ones.
I humbly turn to you to ask for any immediate help you can offer meeting my basic living expenses like rent and health insurance premiums. I also have to start to pay off the $13,000 in medical bills I owe due to deductibles and co-pays. Instead of donating yourself you could also really help me by sharing this campaign with your contacts on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
I've filed for Unemployment and hopefully that will kick in soon. So far I've applied for 13 jobs and will continue sending out those resumes until something sticks. If you believe in prayer I'd appreciate any positive energy you can send me to help me land a job, hopefully with health coverage.
This is nothing I ever wanted to have to do. I have an independent spirit and am used to taking care of myself. However, I can't go it alone right now and I really need help.
