Help Journalist Kemi travel for #PTSD treatment

Donation protected
Kemi is a US trained Nigerian investigative Journalist, Pharmacist, Public Relations Specialist and Gun Violence/Community Activist. She left US and Canada after 35 years totally unaware that Nigeria had a criminal defamation law and was arrested three times by the Nigerian government for attempting to investigate a prominent pastor David Ibiyeomie on allegations of corruption in the church based on a newstip from a church member. Unaware that an 8 page letter was written to her, the police said she wrote what she posted which was only the FIRST PAGE of the 8 pages. Nigerian Police Inspector General Ibrahim Idris said she deliberately defamed the pastor and arrested her 3 different times locking her in Nigeria's largest maximum prison in March, June and October 2017.  A magazine publisher who syndicated her story Samuel Walson was also arrested. 30 prominent bloggers were also scheduled to be arrested but many were either abroad or anonymous. She told her experience and story to several news outlets in Nigeria and reported that she lost her business HNNAfrica a world and health news platform in the amount of $5M in adverts, revenues, assignments and wages. The website link was removed from her Wikipedia profile as it was now a dead link. Her work archives of 18 years were lost along with the website domain. The case was withdrawn on January 22nd 2018 in magistrate court by the plaintiff and will be closed June 5th 2018 in Federal court as rescheduled. The federal case was originally in April 2018 but  judge denied an earlier hearing. Her passport was seized as part of her bail conditions in 2017 and she complained of not being able to take assignments outside Nigeria including the Google Digital Journalism seminar in Cameroon and World Press Freedom day recently in Ghana two cities bordering Nigeria not to talk of outside Africa. Unemployed, paralysed with post traumatic stress disorder filled with anxiety attacks from the detention nightmares at Port Harcourt maximum prison, she has not been able to meet previous donation goals because many were not happy she forgave the pastor. She has been a ridicule of jokes by Nigerians saying she's a shameless beggar online while she is trying to leave Nigeria permanently to seek proper care in America where she lived 30 years. Nigerians are not aware of PTSD. Mental health is not taken seriously in Nigeria.  Investigative journalism is also dangerous in Nigeria. She was told by a former minister that they were in fact trying to "eliminate her" by shooting into the police car as she was to be whisked back to prison during a bench warrant attempted arrest.  She would die while the officers wore bullet proof gear so it looked like an accident where armed robbers were shooting at police and Kemi happened to be in their car. Armed bandits do shoot randomly at cops in Nigeria  Kemi even without provocatoon. Kemi skipped court due to malaria, typhoid and blood poisoning from the prison. One of the her probono lawyers had reportedly collected a bribe not to submit her doctor's letter. Attorney Fatai Lawal of the Afe Babalola firm was dismissed by Kemi.

This foiled  attempted arrest to be kidnapped the third time on October 12th 2017 happened in front of the federal court house in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where Kemi and her lawyer Eugene Meabe fought the undercover officer off with Eugene's clothes torn and Kemi running back into the courthouse toilets locking herself up and switched on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter #LIVE showing global fans real time chaos. The assassination attempt was an allegation the police strongly denied.
Recently a Nigerian Senator Dino Melaye experienced something similar with police. Google Dino Melaye. Nigeria is a country full of terrorists, kidnappers and cultists. Investigative journalists who dare get in such news stories are in grave danger.

Pls read all articles and updates on this page. Kemi was abducted without her family's knowledge by police from her home in Ibadan, Nigeria by 14 armed police officers brandishing AK47assault rifles. She just wants her passport released so as to go meet her 31 and 27yo sons in California, USA to care for her health and activate her social security disability benefits from the US government. Her 17yo son with her in Nigeria suffered emotional damage while she was in prison. She believes the federal judge is holding her passport on orders of higher ups in the government because of what she saw in the prison, sensitive things she said on post prison interviews on live TV.

We wish the bold, vocal and activist journalist good luck in getting her passport back and we need your help for donations. Thank you everyone.

Follow her as she is in psychotherapy.

UPDATE April 2018: After two years Kemi was discovered set up by one of the plaintiff's in the case. Actress Iyabo Ojo lied under oath. Perjury!
