Charlie is our 5 1/2 year old Chocolate Labrador. Like most labs he’s a little crazy, a little loud, but filled with A LOT of love. When we took him home, He became the piece that made our family whole. He was there for us during the best of times- the day we got engaged, by our side on our wedding day, (in between us on our honeymoon) and right there to greet his little sister as soon as we returned from the hospital. He’s also been there for us during the worst of times. Like all dogs, Charlie always forces us to push through and fight life with a smile. It’s our turn to do that for him.
A month ago we discovered a lump on Charlie’s neck. We hoped it was just an infection that could easily be cured, but unfortunelty that wasn’t the case. Charlie was diagnosed with multicentric lymphoma. A cancer in the lymph nodes that is treatable, but not curable. Without treatment the cancer would rapidly take over making him ill, and eventually take is life. The treatment for lymphoma is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy in dogs typically shows very little to no side effects. If the treatment works, he will continue a happy life, and have no idea that he’s even sick. Eventually the cancer will win. It could be 3 months, or it could be 3 years. Either way, Charlie will not go down without a fight, and we’ll be right there with him through it all.

The outpour of support from his followers wanting to help us is the reason we decided to create a go fund me. The money left over (if any) after Charlie’s cancer fight, will be donated in Charlie’s name to help other dogs battling cancer.
