Hi there,
My name is Fatima. As a result of traumatic events, I decided to help women, and have been working on the Openletr Social Media App designed for women to break societal inculcated boundaries by providing a safe space to share any concern related to sexual abuse, domestic violence, harassment among others, receive support, and be a part of a community of like-minded and uplifting women.
Not many people realize that every 98 seconds someone is sexually assaulted and 90% of adult rape victims are female. Considering that 94% of those victims experience depression and above 1/3 explore suicide, I am genuinely asking you to think about ways you can support to change women's narrative.
Bear in mind less than 40% of women who experience violence seek help of any sort, and that percentage is true in countries with available data. This means that including emerging and underdeveloped countries the real number is much lower.
