Help us rest our weary heads!

Hello everybody!

First of all, thank you ever so much for opening this link and reading what we have to say - we'll try and keep it brief but it is Alex typing, not Kate, and so we advise taking that with a pinch of salt.

As so many of you will know, since July 2016, when we showed the big wide world the first iteration of our show, 3 Years, 1 Week and a Lemon Drizzle, we have been saving and working and working and saving to go to Edinburgh this year, 2018. It's not because it's a particularly significant year, but simply because we had to wait for Kate to graduate from drama school. Whilst this meant Alex had to be patient and keep herself busy for two. whole. years, it had its perks. Saving over two years means we can afford to make our show and physically get it - and us - to Edinburgh. HUGE TICK. This is a wonderful thing because our show means a lot to us and, we hope, to those that have seen a version of it already. We're on a two-woman-mission to give a shout out and hug to anybody living with a mental illness - and, just as importantly, to any of your loved ones watching you live with it.

Whilst we are over the moon to be taking our little show to the land of our father this summer, we are still a little short of the total amount of money we need to help us stay in Edinburgh once we arrive.

This is where you come in...

With just over a fortnight left until we perform our final preview in London before leaving for Edinburgh, we are asking you to help us raise the funds to cover the last of our last upfront costs: our accommodation.

We're incredibly aware of how lucky we are to be in a position to at least get to Edinburgh. We knew this would be the first year we would both be free to apply for the festival with 3 Years, 1 Week and a Lemon Drizzle but never in a million years did we dream we'd get an offer first time - and from Underbelly. It's a bit of bucket list dream come true for us both. Really, ask Kate. Alex isn't just saying that on her behalf. Some of the most memorable shows we have ever seen in Edinburgh have been in Underbelly venues and we are over the moon and back again to be a part of the family this year. Having such an exciting chance so much sooner than we had planned is 99.99999% fantastic but 0.11111% (is that even right?) a little tricky because we're still £2000 shy of our total budget. As someone probably once wrote on a t-shirt: 'You can't plan when your dreams will come true, just that they will'.

We know times are tough, we really, really do. We also know  that most of our peers and social media friends who will see this plea are in the arts themselves and will be unable to offer anything. Again, we absolutely  get it and we encourage you to save that 34p you find behind your sofa between now and September. But if you find yourself in a position to share and like, retweet and flit this request for well-earned wages across your networks, we would be incredibly grateful. Beyond incredibly. Unimaginably.

If you can donate financially, well that would be absolutely wonderful too and we can promise you an onslaught of attention, love and personalized rhyming messages on all social media platforms. Honestly, it will be disgusting. The myriad of heart emojis will make your skin crawl. But we hope in a nice way.

We'll leave you alone soon to ponder our request. In the meantime, please know any kind of support you can offer will be so appreciated. Even a text during the festival to remind us to put on deodorant would be so gratefully received. You can of course also support us by coming to see the ruddy thing!

Our London preview is at 3pm on Sunday 29th July 2018 at The Bunker - https://www.bunkertheatre.com/whats-on/preview-3-years-1-week-and-a-lemon-drizzle/about

And a link to some more information about the show and to booking tickets for our Edinburgh run can be found at this here link: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/3-years-1-week-and-a-lemon-drizzle

Okay. We're leaving now. Thank you for your time, consideration and general existence. We appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

Love and lemon drizzles always,
