Heartbreaking Tragedy

On August 10 at approximately 6:04 PM, Stephanie Rojas (26) and her two children Laila (8) and Elijah (6) were involved in a horrific car crash. They were hit head on by a driver who swerved unto oncoming traffic while allegedly on FaceTime and not paying attention to the road. Their lives changed in an instant.
Laila and Elijah were both airlifted via Flight for Life to two different hospitals to treat their injuries. Elijah’s injuries were severe and life threatening. Laila recently underwent surgery and they are both currently recovering in the hospital. Stephanie was transported to treat life-threatening injuries as she was placed on life support immediately after having surgery on her liver that was torn in half after the car wreck.
A long and grueling fight for Stephanie’s life ensued in which she fought valiantly after receiving dialysis in an attempt to stop organ failure. Due to the amount of blood loss Stephanie’s organs shut down and her heart stopped beating as her soul left her body at approximately 1:01 PM on August 12.
Stephanie left behind her husband, her father and step mother, mother and a blended family that consisted of 8 younger siblings, 2 grandparents, cousins, friends, but most heartbreaking of all, she left behind her 2 beautiful babies Laila and Elijah. To say that she will be greatly missed is an understatement.
As Stephanie’s loved ones rally around her and prepare to help care for Laila and Elijah, we need help to cover not only the costs of Stephanie, Laila, and Elijah’s extensive medical bills, but also Stephanie’s funeral expenses.
Elijah and Laila remain hospitalized with severe injuries and are unaware of the loss of their mother. If there is any way that you can help, be it small or large, your efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated.
