Help Xavier Cole Stay at UCONN

Hi everyone! My name is Ryann McNamara. My good friend and fellow UCONN student Xavier Cole needs help paying his tuition.  When he was 5 years old, his father passed of a service related injury. His mother lost custody of him while he was living in a shelter, and him and his two brothers were left to fend for themselves.  When his mother didn't return to the shelter, Xavier entered foster care where he resided in 5 different households. At age 7, he was adopted by his 21-year old brother Joseph and they moved to Salem, Massachusetts.  When he was 9 years old, his mother was deported to Portugal and then sadly passed away a year later. All throughout his childhood, Xavier has overcome many hardships that have shaped him to be the determined young man he is today. With the whole world turned against him, Xavier or "X" overcame the odds and succeeded all throughout high school. He graduated Salem High School as a three sport varsity captain with a GPA of a 3.77. He currently attends University of Connecticut as an HDFS major with the plan to apply into the Business School as a real estate major. For his freshman year, he obtained a GPA of a 3.63. However, he cannot afford to pay off his tuition for his first semester sophomore year and because of this, he will not be able to enroll in classes for our second semester. He has applied for multiple alternative loans but is registered as an independent student and does not have enough credit history to obtain the loan.
