Jeff Fletcher Diabetes Battle

For the last three years, my brother, Jeff Fletcher, has been struggling with infections in his foot due to complications of diabetes. These infections have been incredibly painful and have caused him to have to miss work sporadically on medical leave. He recently has been off work for an extended amount of time due to the growing severity of his infection. After amputating one of his toes, we expected the infection to subside and his return to work to happen quickly. Shortly after returning to work, the infections returned. The doctors took him off work yet again. With a wife and a high school daughter to take care of, this was a hard blow. Wendy Fletcher, his wife, has been working as many hours as she can at her full time job. Jeff’s job, like many others, has a time scale for how much of his paycheck he receives. He is now down to 60% of his paycheck and it will soon be down to 50%. That income will not cover all of their living and medical expenses. Especially since, the doctors, Jeff and, Wendy have decided that it is best for him to have a partial amputation of his foot. This amputation will take place on October 2nd. The expected recovery for this is eight to twelve weeks if everything goes perfectly. The first six to eight weeks he will not be able to put any weight on his foot at all. The hope is that he will be able to return to work shortly after twelve weeks but, as we know, the healing process has to go well for that to happen. All of the financial stress that Jeff caries puts a huge stumbling block in the way of that recovery. Imagine if Jeff where able to focus all of his energy on his recovery and rehabilitation without having to worry about the financial burden of it all.  We cannot make that realty on our own but, with the help of generous people like you, we could.
