Building a Disc Golf Course on Bowen Island

The Bowen Disc Golf Club is building a disc golf course here on Bowen Island. We need your help to raise funds needed to create this great new amenity that the whole community can enjoy.
Disc golf is played like regular golf but with flying discs (like small Frisbees). Its fun for all ages, a healthy activity and free to play any time of year. Just grab a disc or two and head out to the park. See below video.
The Bowen Island Municipality has generously set aside land for this course. It will be located in the forest around the field at Veterans Park on Bowen Island. We have everything set to start construction and this campaign will help kick it into gear.
We plan to build a 9 hole course to start. Once we have the first 9 completed we will add secondary tee boxes so it can be played as an 18 hole course. It is low impact and will be set amongst the trees in the natural environment. The design includes par 3s, 4s and even a par 5. The terrain has great features: uphills, downhills, dog legs left and right and various obstacles to keep it challenging. It is the perfect spot to make a great disc golf course.
In total this project will cost $25k to complete. We plan to raise 1/3 of that through private donations. So far we have raised $2k and we are hoping that this campaign will get us to the 1/3 mark.
Another 1/3 will be raised through sponsorships from local organizations. This will be done outside of the Go Fund Me campaign so if you are interested in sponsoring a hole, please reach out to us directly.
Finally, we are applying for grants to cover the final 1/3 to complete the funding.
This money will be used for purchasing the baskets (targets for each hole), signage and materials for building the tee boxes. We also require money for professional services such as arborists and machine operators.
