Dennis A DeGrave

Wow, never in my mind would I think we would have to come to this decision, I really doubt anyone who sees this will not know who Dennis DeGrave is, He is known by Many and loved by all who come in contact with him.       My name is Candice or "Candie"  as alot of you who went to bowlmor Lanes use to know me I was always the one there with Henry his father or Denny.         The reason this campaign all came about, is because A Lot of things happened in such a short period of time! Denny has had medical issues as many of you know since he was born( a birth defect that made one are shorter and unable to bend to both hands without the thumb) This never ever stopped him ( When he was 21 he was in a car accident  which fused his neck together) again he worked so many jobs he never asked for anything and retired from Camcar Textron as a janitor        Well here we are today, Dec 9th at 7 am I couldn't sleep any more.  So I thought this is the best time as any!         Denny got Sick the day before Thanksgiving, He was so sick he wasn't able to make it down to even have dinner with us, But he was able to make a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.  But as the days went on, we thought okay he got the flu shot a week or so ago, so maybe he get ill from it (NOT THE CASE)       We called his primary and they were closing it was Monday Nov 26th, Denny was so weak couldn't eat n e thing or even drink. So they told us to go to Immediate care so we did not have to go to the "ER" and wait to be seen. Well the minute that Dr. saw us nope go to ER you are severely dehydrated. Well We got Her about 5:30 pm on Monday Nov 26th and they admitted him.  After a couple days we found out it from a previous problem.  ( He was having problems swallowing for a while because he had gotten a grape stuck in this throat in 2012 and they had to stretch it ) There Have been sooo sooo soo many other surgerys. But this is the one that lead us up to here.       So THIS IS IT!  He has aspiration pneumonia, Which means anything that he is trying to eat or drink is going straight to his airwaves and into lungs, which they did a swallow study and found out he in unable to swallow at all, so in order to survive , we had to put him on a feeding tube.  He stated he didn't want to die, so we are doing the feeding tube. He got the tube two days later. and finally after 4 days of not being able to feed him.... we saw that the tube had come loose and his abdomen was filling up instead of his stomach. The only course of action is yet another surgery to remove the tube, and put him on a ventilator that he may never come off and DENNY said no more surgerys, I want to just go home.        So that is what he wants that is what he gets.  We made it through the night of the 8th in the hospital, they took all his ivs and meds off about 5:30 pm and with hospice we will be able to go home tomorrow or Tuesday.        We are not sure how long he is going to be with us because his kidneys are not outputting at all. SO HERE IS WHERE I ASK YOU, IF YOU KNOW HIM IF YOU DON'T PLEASE HELP US! HE IS THE OLDEST BROTHER OF  8 AND AN AMAZING MAN!  ANYTHING WILL HELP US WITH A 14 DAY HOSPITAL STAY AND HOSPICE, HE COULD LIVE ANYWHERE FROM 2 DAYS TO 5+ YEARS.  THANK YOU FOR ANY DONATIONS, SHARE OR LOVE!  PLEASE LETS GET THIS OUT AND ABOUT.. THE AMOUNT IS JUST IN CASE HE DECIDES TO LIVE OUT A QUALITY LIFE AT HOME.  DEC 10TH UPDATE Denny is now at home resting comfy in bed able to listen/watch what he wants at home instead of being at the mercy of the tv at the hospital that doesnt have channels..
