Dena Whitebirch End of Life Expenses

Donation protected
My mom, Dena Whitebirch (Heck), was born in 1952 and grew up in Portage Indiana. She has always been fascinated with music and even won musical competitions when she was a student at Portage high in 1969 and went on to get a degree in musical arts from the University of Evansville.

She is a loving and giving person and devout Christian. She spent months caring for her elderly mother, and dedicated her life to taking care of her disabled husband, Walter Whitebirch (my dad).

She is a cat enthusiast! She loves her cat, Ollie.

She was diagnosed with advanced stage dialated myocardopathy in August of 2017.. in January of 2018  she was told age would only live another 6 months. She refused hospice because she believed she could fight this. In August of 2018 started a string of hospital visits battling side effects of advanced heart failure but she continued to fight! Now her fight is coming to an end. She's tired and has fought long and hard, and as hard as it is, it's time for us to say goodbye and for her to be able rest in peace.
That being said, with that day quickly approaching, there are certain expenses that we just aren't prepared for.

Any money donated will help pay for cremation costs and memorial services and is greatly appreciated.

I'll post updates as her condition changes, but we are in the final days. She is now out of the hospital and he with my family trying to stay comfortable in these final moments. Hospice is here now 24/7 until the day comes that she passes. Today we prayed with the chaplain.  This is all happening very quickly.  Thank you for taking the time to read her story.
