Healing Journey for Ava Lowe

Hello Dear Friends of Ava,
On September 11th, 2018, Ava was diagnosed with a phase II anal cancer with a 6cm x 3cm (2 1/2 x 1 1/4 in) tumor, presumably caused by environmental toxins. Close to this tumor is an enlarged lymph node and another approximate 6cm x 3cm (2 1/2 x 1 1/4 in) tumor in her rectum.
The decision was made to get treatment at a specialized clinic in Mexico and Ava arrived in February 2019 feeling very poorly and hardly able to walk. Fortunately, after a six week stay, one of the tumors disappeared and the other was down to 3mm (less than 1/4 in) and Ava was able to fly home to be with her loving husband and friends.
But there is still work to do. The results from her last PET scan on Aug 28 showed the tumor has continued to grow back to 3.1cm (1.22 in). She returned to Mexico on September 14, 2019 for a second round of treatment and is at the clinic in Tijuana right now receiving the care she needs.
These last few months have been difficult and intense, but also deeply touching as so much love and support has come her way. The financial support has been extremely helpful to take the edge off the travel cost and immense clinic cost. They are now exceeding $100,000. Any further financial help would go a long way toward easing the burden and would be greatly appreciated.
