"Obby" SGT Robert J Ledee ( USA-RET) Family Fund

Donation protected
This GoFundMe campaign is for the wife and daughter of my brother, SGT Robert J. Ledee (USA-Ret) who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 19, 2019.

My brother Robert, better known to most as Obby, was born February 6th, 1975 in Miami, FL.  He was only 43 years old. Obby and I were 14 months apart. He was more my twin than my younger brother. There is nothing we didn’t do together. We attended same schools, had the same group of friends and even enlisted in the Army together. As an active duty soldier in the US Army, Obby was diagnosed with a small brain tumor which had several negative side effects and ultimately resulted in him being Medically Retired from the Army 2 years ago.

While stationed in Soto Cano, Honduras, Obby fell in love and married. He and his wife, Erika were then stationed in Hawaii where they had a beautiful daughter, Anella Isabel. It was in Hawaii where his health deteriorated to the point where he was forced to medically retire.  He moved back home to Miami and started working for the VA Police at the Miami VA Medical Center. Obby then applied and was awarded a position as a Homeland Security Agent at the Ft. Myers, FL office. He relocated to Ft. Myers where he lived these last 2 years with his wife and daughter. He was preparing to relocate to Ft. Lauderdale where he accepted a promotion to be an Officer for Homeland Security.

Last Saturday night, he did what he always does.  He bathed his 3 year old (almost 4) girl, took his medications and went to sleep. He never woke up. My brother passed peacefully in his sleep.

Obby’s daughter was his entire world. There was nothing he didn’t do with her.  He was an avid fisherman and always brought his young daughter along. He was the best father a daughter could have. He was the sole provider for the family. To know my brother Obby, was to love him. He was extremely smart and very funny. Never a dull moment when in Obby’s company. He loved his country and adored his little girl.   We will all miss him dearly, none more than his wife and young daughter.

We are now trying to ensure his daughter will be able to live the life he was determined to provide for her. His wife and daughter will need to relocate back to Miami, find housing and schooling and try to rebuild their lives without their rock, my baby brother, who they depended on as their provider. During this difficult time, they need as much help and support and they can get.

I would like to thank all who took the time read my story and support this cause to ensure my niece, Anella Isabel Ledee, will be able to live out the dreams my dear brother intended for her.

Please share my link to your Facebook timeline and help me finish the job my brother started.
