Justin, Cheryl and Oliver Van Schaick

As many of you know Justin and Cheryl Van Schaick are both loved and respected members of the Warren Township High School faculty. Cheryl teaches English at the O'Plaine Campus, while Justin teaches special education at the Almond Campus. Justin also coaches varsity football (defensive coordinator) and varsity lacrosse. Cheryl has been involved in coaching as well for multiple years, most recently as a girls lacrosse coach.
Both Cheryl and Justin have touched many lives here at WTHS, as teachers, colleagues and coaches. They have also touched many lives away from the WTHS community as a sister, brother and friend.
Recently Cheryl, Justin and Oliver were expecting their second child (a baby girl) to be born later this month. On Thursday, February 21st Cheryl went into labor as normal with a full term baby. Ruth Marie Van Schaick was born at 11:21pm on 2/21. During the birthing process though, there were some major complications that gave Little Ruth Marie a very tough start to life. Unfortunately, Ruth Marie Van Schaick could not overcome those complications and passed away on 2/23 surrounded by the people who love her the most.
The amount of pain and despair that Justin, Cheryl and Oliver feel is beyond anything most of us could imagine. Due to this tragedy we are looking to raise money to provide them with some financial comfort. Comfort so they can focus their energies on healing! There is no dollar amount that will bring back Little Ruthie, but hopefully we can take away some of their overall financial burden.
I have personally known both Justin and Cheryl for over 10 years. I know if myself or my family were ever in need they would be the first to step up and help. It is now OUR opportunity as family, friends, colleagues and parents to help two very selfless people in their time of pain.
Our goal is to raise $5000 dollars by Saturday March 9th. I hope you will consider donating to this very worthy campaign.
To Justin, Cheryl and Oliver please know that we all love you and care about you guys. As a community we will be here for you as long as you need us.
