Charlie’s brain cancer battle

Donation protected
Charlie is 1 of our 9 children and on Tuesday 21st August 2018!we got told the devastating news and every parents worst nightmare that he had a brain tumour, from that moment on our world as we know it came crashing down. Up until that point Charlie’s was a healthy lovely out going very energetic caring little 6 year old boy who lived life to the fullest
and putting a smile on many peoples faces now he faces a path of uncertainty,  crippling treatments with no guarantee. Charlie has had his surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible he had to endure a staggering11 hour operation to determine what tumour it is, within 24 hours Charlie was back in theatre suffering from a complication of the surgery called hydracephulus and had to have an emergency evd put in to help drain the brain fluid it’s been diagnosed as grade 4 medullablastoma. The results from the pathology lab that his type is large cell/anaplastic which is largely associated with a worst outlook, the treatment that Charlie now faces is to be 6 weeks of high dose radiotherapy which he is currently 5 weeks in followed by at least 4 rounds of high dose chemotherapy before he started treatment he had to have daily gcsf injections to help boost his stem cell count so that he could have a stem cell transplant to help aid him during the high dose chemotherapy treatment but to see Charlie now struggling to move and needing therapy to do the everyday tasks like walking is so heartbreaking and immensely sad
Charlie has a weakness in his face muscles and is still unsteady on his feet we are yet to know if these are permanent effects of surgery and the tumour

we are fundraising to help take the financial strain of the impact cancer has on a family but also to make some happy memories like a family holiday abroad, he loves planes so a plane ride and just some quality family time days out etc. during and after treatment in the time frame we have left

this is Charlie a week before symptoms of the tumour was present picture with one of his younger sisters and this was charlie recovering from surgery
If any one would like to donate to help Charlies battle against brain cancer no matter how small would be most appreciated many thanks
