Help Widowed Allan Recover.

>>>Please Heart and Share This GoFundMe, God Bless!<<<

Dear Friends,

God has laid on our hearts to create this GoFundMe Campaign to help Allan recover from illness and the surprising death of his spouse of 36 years.  Allan and his wife Linda have been faithful members of Harvest Baptist Temple of Medford Oregon, where Linda was a charter member when the church began in 1977.

Several people have expressed interest in how they can help Allan as he is going through this rough period in his life.

There are three ways that you can help and become one of ALLAN'S HEROES!

1) Pray for Allan! We believe in the power of prayer and are asking as many Christians as possible to pray for Allan.

2) Share this GoFundMe on your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.  We want to share Allan's story with as many people as possible!

3) Giving to help Allan. Even just a $5 donation will help Allan!  We know God will bless it!  Luke 6:38

Linda's Diagnosis:

As many you know, in November 2016 Linda was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She went through chemotherapy, surgeries, and radiation, unfortunately, her form of cancer was very aggressive and didn’t respond to most of these treatments. It continued to spread to her bones (mainly spine, hips, and skull) as well as her liver and in April 2018 we learned the illness reached stage 4.

At this point, doctors said Linda had 6 - 12 months left to live while continuing to receive treatment to suppress the cancer from spreading as quickly.

Unfortunately, her condition continued to worsen. She was acting strange and unable to perform basic functions like turning on the kitchen faucet.

We knew something was wrong and drove her to the hospital for further examinations.

The MRI scan of her brain revealed that she had suffered several small strokes. Later, her oncologist confirmed that she had a rare form of cancer, leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, which was leaking from her skull into the membrane.

Following this diagnosis, Linda was hospitalized immediately and placed in comfort care. She passed away at 6:15 AM on 9/11/2018 with her husband Allan and sons Jesse and Zack by her side as she took her last breath.  She went in peace and is now in Heaven watching over us and waiting for us to see her again someday.

Allans Illnesses:

Allan was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996 and with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 2006.  Allan is an amazing fighter who lives his life to the full and refuses to let these illnesses slow him down. Over the years, he has been one of the top contributors to raising funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the Southern Oregon area.

In 2016, just after Linda’s breast cancer diagnosis, Allan had a major infection on his left leg which resulted in two amputations, first below and then above the knee.  He is currently using a wheelchair and crutches to get around while in the process of getting a prosthetic leg.

Allan has never let these setbacks slow him down.  He still continues to serve in his local church faithfully.  He is also beginning to volunteer at the hospital to be an encouragement and a blessing to others.

Through all these trials and tribulations, Allan has never questioned why this is happening.  It's been the opposite.  He rejoices, knowing Linda is pain-free and in Heaven!  He knows God has a plan for him and loves to tell others about Jesus.

How The Funds Will Be Used:

(1) Medical Bills:

Before their illnesses, both Allan and Linda had full-time jobs with group health insurance. When Allan had his first amputation, he was forced to leave his job and qualified for SSDI, disability income. They relied on Linda’s health insurance for as long as possible until the chemo and side effects made her unable to work. They were forced to switch insurance plans with new deductibles in the middle of the year.

After they drained their savings, the medical bills just piled up. The hospital and doctors have been very gracious working with Allan to keep these bills from going to collections. The funds from this GoFundMe campaign will be used to pay off these medical bills.

There are 4 remaining outstanding bills we will be paying off with the funds in this campaign:

1. Armsleeve that was used for Linda after her mastectomy (PAID!)
2. Surgeon charges for Allans above the knee amputation
3. Hospital charges for Allan
4. Hospital charges for Linda

(2) Linda’s Final Expenses:

The funds from this GoFundMe will also be used to pay off the final expense bills for Linda.

1. Funeral Home: This included expenses for preparing the body, purchasing the coffin and death certificates.
2. Cemetery: This included expenses for burial rights and maintenance, burial vault, and tombstone.
