HUMANITY’S CHILD: A MUSICAL FOR TODAY!
Our Story: “We’re speaking up today!” from Humanity’s Child, is an anthem for a new and vocal generation of young women. These are most challenging times, especially for those just starting out in the world or struggling to balance careers and family life. Many share deep concerns about a dissonant and dangerous future.
We are ten of those young women, all 20-something performers who use our art to affect social change and we have an extraordinary opportunity to do just that! Humanity’s Child: A Musical for Today is literally just that: “for today!” It emerges from real life and the experiences of young people, like us, as they march for their lives (#MarchForOurLives), and especially young women as we navigate the complex world of gender relations in the 21st century (#MeToo).
For the next several months, our group of singers, actors, and dancers will collaboratively tell our story under the guidance of Master Storyteller, Jonatan Kruk weaving in the music and lyrics of composer Dr. John McDonnell Tierneywe will bring that story to life at the prestigious New York Theater Festival 2019, July 29, 31, and August 3.
