Kyle's week as a medical student

About 6 years ago I met a guy named Joey, he is a hard working former Marine with a great family. As I started spending more time with them it became obvious that the values and respect that they had instilled in their children would take them down a path to be anything that they wanted. Kyle and Taylor are both caring, intelligent and goal oriented. Kyle has recently been accepted to take part in a summer program at Brown University where he will spend a week learning more about what life will be like as he pursues his desire to become a Doctor. Over the past 6 years I have watched Kyle grow into a fine young man who will volunteer during his limited free time between school, work and swimming. He volunteers a large amount of time with the Daytona Chapter of Team RWB whose mission is to enrich the lives of Americas Veterans. The cost of this program is something that would task the abilities of any hard working middle class family so I have decided to start this campaign to see if together we can help Kyle fulfill his mission and go on to become the Doctor that he so wants to be. Here is the letter he wrote to try to find financial help.

" I am a sophomore at Spruce Creek High School (SCHS) and I have recently been accepted by Brown University to attend a summer program for outstanding high school students. I am in the IB program at SCHS and I have maintained a grade point average of 4.30. I am involved in multiple clubs at school, such as the Interact Club of SCHS and the Science club at my school FJAS (Florida Junior Academy of Science). I am on my high school swim team and I swim year round on a competitive team. I work part time on Saturday and Sunday and most of that money goes towards gas.

   I have enrolled in a course, Hands on Medicine: Week in the Life of a Medical Student, because I am passionate about medicine, my goal is to become a doctor. I am hoping that this course will help me explore this academic interest and help me prepare for college. Students from all over the world attend these programs. I know that I would gain a great deal from both my studies and interactions with my peers. I am so eager to participate in this life changing experience.

   My challenge is that I need to raise $3,500 to help with program costs, and for transportation in order to attend the program.
