CT's Compassion Intl Trip (El Salv)

Donation protected

I am excited to say that I am planning to participate in a mission trip to El Salavador with my church and Compassion International!!
Many of you don't realize that interntional travel and missions have been in my heart for many years.   As a child my "plan" for my life was to be a doctor (Pediatric Physiatrist) and work with Doctors Without Borders.

God had different plans for me and it has been an interesting ride.   I graduated with my B.S. in Child Development, spent many years completing pre-requisite classes, and went on to earn my DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) in Boston.  All the while my heart has yearned for travel and missions but time, money, and circumstances made it impossible.

Fast forward to now.  Life is currently interesting and God has used some creative circumstances to get me to listen and get out of jobs that were not the best for me as a person.  It is not easy but I have spent some of the most amazing time in converstion with God through my quiet time, friends, family, and strangers.

I discovered this trip days before the deposit was due.  I wrote it off because it didn't seem possible and a friend stepped up without hesitation in a way that made it obvious that my fear of lack of funding should not be making the decision to not go on this trip.

For anyone who knows me you will hear who I am described in the plan for the trip.

* VBS for 400 kiddos
* Visiting local churches
* Visiting homes of kiddos in the program
* "Fun Day" for local kids
* Service Project to assist the community
* A chance to see how Compassion is fighting poverty on the frontline.

I sponsor a child through Compassion and have several sponsored children in my family by other family members.  I have seen first hand from the US what a difference they make.  I am excited to be able to help.

The guesstimate cost for the trip is approx $2000.00.  This cost will be significantly dependent on airfare costs.  There will also be requirements not included in that cost (i.e.  passport, immunizations, meals, additional meds for me, and additional travel insurance....)

Please consider contributing to the trip if you are able.  Many people with $5-10 is just as powerful as a few with larger contributions.  I will happily and prayerfully accept all donations toward the trip with glad singing and happy dances!
