Brayden Gets a New Heart!! Brayden Morris received the long-anticipated call that he had a donor heart on April 9, 2019! The next day Brayden received his new heart!!!! The Morris family have been, and will continue to be on a long road to recovery for Brayden!! Brayden was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome,  doctor visits and hospital stays have been routine throughout his lifetime.   June, 2018 Brayden had a stroke.  Brayden had three surgeries, not to fix it just to stabilize him a little bit. The first surgery was at seven weeks old. That was the Norwood, basically using a shunt to get blood to the body. This is just until the second surgery has to be performed. They literally stop the heart and have a certain amount of time that they get them cold in order to perform the surgery. He was there for three months that time. For us then, it was minute to minute, hour to hour, and finally day to day. At 11 months, The Glenn open heart surgery had to be performed to make the veins from the top part of your body drain directly into your pulmonary arteries that go to your lungs. Normally you have a right ventricle that pumps to your lungs and a left ventricle pumps to your body. He’s only got a right, so they make it drain straight to the lung, until the age of three.  Surgeries have continued throughout the 17 year olds life. A pacemaker one trip, a defibrillator another trip. He also has protein losing enteropathy and what’s known as a failing Fontan. April 10th, 2019 Brayden received his new heart. Please help us raise money for medical and living expenses for Brayden and his family. #BraydenBrave
