Beatrice Ward, has been hospitalized since January 2017. She has had two complex surgeries. Now, she is on the critical care unit, on a ventilator and unable to speak. Ms. Ward’s recovery will include physical, occupational therapy and rehabilitation.
When we have loved ones in the hospital, it benefits the patient to have an advocate always with them to serve as an extra set of ears and eyes to make clear of what is being communicated by doctors, nurses, all others who care for them. In addition, hospitals are often short staffed, affecting patient care. In these cases, the old saying, “the squeaky wheel gets oil”, here we are referring to the advocate who will ultimately make sure that the patient has everything that they need to make a full recovery.
Moreover, because of my mom’s lengthy stay in the hospital, her family’s desire is for her not to become overwhelmed with her bills. The goal is to have Ms. Beatrice Ward focus on getting well, and not be concerned about her bills, so she can continue getting better and moving forward towards a successfully recovery. Our Mom has a heart of gold and we would love to see all the people who love and support Ms. Bea assist us in reaching this Go Fund me goal. I have calculated the cost of what it would take to bring Beatrice’s current bills to a zero balance. Please join us in our efforts to make this happen for our mom. We have learned since our Mom has been hospitalized that Family, Friends and Patient Advocates is the key to a patience success recovery.
