Full Circle Earth Fund

Tax deductible
This is my son Frank (or as he likes to be called--Franklin).  Frank is a volunteer at Full Circle Earth , a non-profit located in Beverly, MA.  He is also an adult with Autism.

As many parents of persons with disability know, finding employment or vocational training for our children has been a daunting task.  Finding a place where they can grow as individuals and be accepted and appreciated for their own unique abilities is even more challenging.

Several years ago, the founder of Full Circle Earth, Jimi Carnazza began working with Frank (and other persons with disabilities) on projects to educate the local community on ways to reduce waste through composting, as well as techniques to remove chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers from our environment.  What we discovered is that through hands-on organic land care projects, Frank was not only gaining self confidence, but also developing a deeper love for our planet--in fact, he now considers himself an "Earth Protector."  What we also discovered is that Frank was gaining valuable skills that could translate into employment down the road.

As a result, my husband and I became more involved with Full Circle Earth and were happy to see that they were interested in developing an "organic land care worker" certification program--we ran a pilot program last summer with encouraging results.  Yet, one of the key obstacles to getting the program fully up and running has been the lack of human resources--FCE is staffed completely by volunteers who have limited time.  Luckily for all of us, FCE has qualified to have a TerraCorp Member provide us with 35-40 hours a week starting September 2019 through July 2020.  This opportunity should give us enough support to maintain and grow our current projects, as well as finalize our vocational curriculum.   Note: for more info on TerraCorp. please checkout their website at https://terracorps.org/.

Now, all we need to do is raise $6,500 to fund our service site fee and to provide our member with a computer to use.  We have an anonymous donor who will provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $3,000 through the end of September.  That means, we only need to raise $3,000 by 9/30/19 to fund the rest of the fee and an additional $500 to buy a laptop (of course if someone has a laptop to donate, we only need to raise $3,000).  Any additional funds we raise above the $3,500 will be used to pay for workshops focused on sustainability and environmental protection, upgrading our aquaponic systems at the FCE hoop house, and of course, building our vocational training program.

I hope you agree that reducing the toxic chemicals in our environment while training persons with altered abilities to work in the organic land care space is a truly worthy cause and that you will consider a donation today.   Any amount you give, even $5, would be greatly appreciated.   Of course if you would also share our link with your friends, family and associates, we are confident that we can raise these much needed funds.

On behalf of Full Circle Earth and persons like Frank, thank your for your support.

Of course if you can't make a cash donation, we do have a wish list of items that we need, including: a pick-up truck; a van to transport volunteers and vocational training participants; a 250-gallon rig sprayer & trailer; a paper shredder;  bungee cords; garden equipment including, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrow; office supplies including stapler, staples, scissors, scotch tape, recycled printer paper, page protectors, envelops, stamps, dry erase markers.

If you are interested in volunteering please reach out through our website at http://www.fullcircleearth.org/contact.
