CMP emergency hardware replacement

For over 10 years I’ve created and shared artwork and comics for free, for the love of it and in an attempt to bring a little joy and enjoyment to the world. I’ve always been happy to give away the fruits of my labour and generally do whatever I can to share my love of creating with others. For the last couple of years I’ve streamed my drawing as much as I can and getting to know many of you.

About 2 and a half years ago, I lost my day job and decided to take my final month’s pay cheque and go bold. I said goodbye to work that made me unhappy and chose to follow my life long dream of being an independent comic artist. It hasn’t been easy. I’m not a natural talent - I learned to draw from books and through sheer stubbornness. A refusal to accept that I’m not good enough to make it my life.

Skipping ahead, over years of 70+ hour weeks and I pay my rent and my bills. An achievement that’s cost me a great deal - my health, my social life and all sense of financial security - but one I am deeply proud of. Any money left over I happily spend on my daughter, now approaching 9 months old, that I adore more deeply and intensely than I could ever express.

However, this week when my Wacom drawing tablet expired and ceased to work, I’ve found myself stuck. I do not have the money to replace it. It is my means of making the money to replace it. I have an inadequate temporary solution that can work so I can keep paying my rent but without my primary tool and daily driver, I simply cannot make enough money to get back to where I was.

I would not ask directly for donations if the situation wasn’t desperate or there was another way to solve the problem. I don’t push my Patreon campaign for my comic down people’s throats or hold my work to ransom behind a paywall - I’d rather strive to make something that people enjoy enough they choose to support it rather than feel any obligation.

If you’ve enjoyed my comics, my pictures or streams over the last decade, and you can spare a little money to help a man with a family to support stay in business, please consider this campaign.

Thank you for reading this.
