Flamenco Guitar Project

The goal of this campaign is to raise 19,059 dollars Canadian to attend flamenco guitar courses in Sevilla, Spain, for six months starting on September 07, 2020.
The courses will cost 6,363.96 dollars Canadian, housing accommodation will cost 4,068 dollars Canadian at (678 CND$ per month), ground travel and flight is budgeted at 2,257 dollars Canadian, subsistence (including meals, laundry, etc) are estimated at 6,370 dollars Canadian (35 CDN$ per diem). This does not include other expenses such as registration fee, visa application processing expense, etc.
This specialized training will cover all aspects of flamenco guitar, methods, exercises, falsetas, and playing for singing and dancing. One to one lessons will run for 90 minutes per day from Monday to Friday. Each week a new "palo" will be learned. Think of flamenco like a big tree with lots of branches, each of them a different palo. Each palo has its own tempo and melody and the playing techniques differ from those you might already know. The first day will be spent working and focusing on flamenco guitar techniques in order to work on the chosen palo by playing with these new techniques:
Arpeggios: simple, combined, trémulo. Same names as for classical guitar, but a completely different way of playing.
Strum: modern, traditional or how many fingers you use.
Alzapúa: position and movement of the thumb, exclusive of flamenco technique.
This project will also include a specialized tempo training, which is the most important thing in flamenco as it is completely different from any other kind of music with its compound beats.
At this time, in order to advance my career as a musician and flamenco guitarist, higher level skills and training is required from more advanced professional teachers. As a self-taught guitar player, practicing flamenco guitar techniques for the past 12 years, my skill-set has reached a plateau. With my passion and dedication to this art form, now is the time to seek and develop advanced skills and techniques that will enable me to collaboration with other talented flamenco artist (guitarist, singers, dancers) and share a more authentic feel of this amazing form of art to the audience here in Canada.

I have chosen Taller Flamenco because it is the most experienced international school for Flamenco with highly experienced and passionate teachers. It offers competitive pricing for its training and accommodation in comparison to other schools in Sevilla, Spain.

With your help I would love to be able to have some professional flamenco guitar training. Thank you for any help you are able to give. Every little bit helps.
