Fundraising for Project Acchieve and The Father's Heart Children's Trust.

My name is Susie Amadasun and I have set up this fundraiser to raise / register funds for 2 charities which are close to my heart: Project Acchieve and The Father’s Heart Children’s Trust.

As the founder of my design company Jachory, a part of my dream is to enable social and economic empowerment and a better quality of life, by supporting indigenous local talent in communities. We need not wait until life paths are chosen for people who are at less of an advantage and believe that we can already do something during the formative years of an individual – in childhood.

We need your help.

Project Acchieve is a project by “foreign” women living in Nigeria and married to Nigerian men, who came together with a wish to “give back” to society – one of the ways they do this is by building a school for children with special needs (under the age of 12). The Father’s Heart Children’s Trust supports the needs of orphans and are currently fundraising for 3 indigenous orphanages in Nigeria. Food supplies, toiletries / nappies for babies, a school bus, a playground, are some of the necessities provided for these children to ensure they have a healthy childhood despite their not having parents to care for them. In previous years, funds have been raised by these charities through family members of the charity staff, friends, occasional donations from sponsors, used items sales and hand-crafted items made specifically for this purpose.

For Project Acchieve, so far a bungalow has been built as a school where children with special needs attend on a daily basis to learn an educational syllabus as well as vocational training such as sewing, sandal and jewellery making, music. The foundation of the permanent school building has been built and the ground floor is in progress. The total amount it will take to complete the upstairs complex is Naira 24 million (equivalent in USD 78'500), excluding plumbing, utilities, painting, doors, windows and furnishings. The immediate needs are for the upper floor and decking with a total of Naira 13 million (equivalent in USD 42'500).

With the aid of The Father’s Heart Children’s Trust, the orphanages supported have benefitted from the purchase of a school bus, food items and toiletries for the children, a playground with swings and a trampoline have been built (with the aid of local artisans for example, a local artist painted the children’s characters on the walls of the playground). Yearly support budget needed usually amounts to Naira 3.6 million (equivalent in USD 11'000).

There is more that can be done for these children!

Through the sale of products from Jachory (which includes also an ethnic collection designed by Jachory and made-in-Nigeria), I would like to contribute from the profits made, to these 2 charities. These contributions from products purchased via www.jachory.com will be registered here to fund these causes.
