As the first Musical Theatre group for Amateurs in the Teesdale area since a very long time, Teesdale Operatic Society has been started to serve those of us who love musicals and want to be in them!
The first production will be Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, to be performed at The Witham in December 2020. With the ability to have a good sized cast, including children, it's the perfect musical to start us off - especially in the run up to Christmas.
So far, all funds needed have come from me, Dawn Trevor. There has been various website costs and a one off £480 cost to purchase the license needed for Joseph. However, putting on a production is costly and we'll need money for rehearsal room hire, musicians (yes, we'll have a real band!), costumes, make up and set/props. There's tons to do, but with us all working together, we'll put on an amazing show.
If we can pull this off and get people of all ages and abilities on the stage at The Witham with that glorious Technicolour Dreamcoat, what an achievement. Any funds not spent will go directly into the pot for the next musical. The only people being paid will be the Musical Director and the Musicians - the real talent of the operation!
