Hear Me Now is a non-profit organization that works to improve resources and awareness in adolescent mental health. We are currently trying to raise money for the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Golisano Children's Hospital here in Rochester, NY.
CPEP is for people dealing with a psychiatric crisis, particularly those who are at risk of hurting themselves or someone else. During this process, you see several doctors, nurses, and social workers, who will determine what the next step will be; from CPEP, a person is either admitted to an inpatient or partial program, or referred to outpatient services.
This process can take a lot of time, especially if someone is waiting for admission to inpatient; it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, and all of that time is spent on the couches and chairs, which are in need of an upgrade. Help us make this experience a little bit better for all of the children, teenagers, and relatives who go through CPEP every day.
