Bike Lights Project

We are accepting donations for our annual bike lights project.  Money donated will purchase front and rear lights to distribute to working class riders and college students in the city of Norfolk, VA.  

Once we purchase the lights, volunteers hit the streets shortly after Daylight savings time ends and distribute lights in various neighborhoods including Berkley, Park Place, and Southern Shopping Center, as well as on the 3 college campuses in our city. The goal is  the purchase and distribution of 60 light sets.

We have found that giving out lights provides opportunity to educate on the importance of being visible at night, and it gives opportunity for us to share with riders other resources Bike Norfolk offers. 


Bike Norfolk  is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that promotes a bicycle-friendly city through awareness and education, improved infrastructure, and a strong cycling community that embraces people who cycle for fun, fitness, well-being, and as a mode of transportation.
