Glimpses of Grief and Glee - A Celebration of Life

Donation protected
We hope you will join us in bringing a special music concert and world debut of original compositions to life. The works explore many experiences we all have in common during this challenging pandemic ... cabin fever, frustrations, fear, grief, family, love, faith, and hope. Additionally, the concert will provide an opportunity for professional musicians to be employed during this time of reduced financial distress caused by the pandemic. A unique collaborative aspect features a glimpse into the creative process and seeds of inspiration. Poet Elinor Ann Walker was given the composition “Blue Boy”, about the composer’s tiny, newborn pug puppy struggled to live his 18 hours on this earth, along with video footage. Walker, in turn, wrote a magnificent poem entitled “Triple Clef” which was then filtered back through the composer resulting in a 2nd composition of the same title. Musicians will include pianist/composer, Amy McLelland, violinist Daniel Szasz, cellist Warren Samples, vocalists, and percussion. Here’s a link to computer program versions of some of the compositions, albeit the sound will be much better with actual musicians, a Steinway etc. The concert will be live streamed and recorded so that audiences may attend virtually as well as an in-person venue observing limited seating, masks, and social distancing in a large room. https://www.mclellandpiano.com/chamber-concert-original-compositions-debut.html
