Help The Park's Get Stable Housing in Chile

Steuerlich absetzbar

We are the Park family, missionaries in Chile.  We have been a part of establishing Tierra Alta Camp & Church Planting Center here in Santiago, Chile.   We have a massive need.   One that has become desperate.  We need stable housing.

The Lord has blessed the ministry greatly and even though it is still in it's grass roots, it is thriving.   It will take some time to become independent because it is a Chilean ministry by the Chilean church for the Chilean church and therefore will take time to get on it's feet and become self-sustaining.   In the  mean-time, we have fallen on hard times.  Our housing situation is not good.  We have witnessed 3 stabbings  & car robbings outside our front door (we helped the victims taking them to the hospital and saved one of their cars,  Jared has been hit by a car while attempting to put our new born into her car-seat (hit and run) simply because the parked driver got impatient and ran him over, we have witnessed several break-in's by video in our house and in our church next door, just last year a young person was shot and killed at the plaza a block away, and most recently and neighbor has physically threatened Jared and our family for helping his wife call the police after witnessing him drag her through the street with his car.     Just writing this paragraph makes us feel the gravity of the situation, we really never thought of it all together in this way before.

Financially we would normally be able to get a mortgage, but the system here makes in near impossible for "foreigners".   The banks have said it's too risky and that we need to pay everything up-front in order to give them less risk.  The problem is we do not have that kind of money.   The cost of living here in Santiago, according to Mercer.com's 2018 cost of living index, would make it the 8th most expensive city in the USA (if it were a US city).  The house that cost $120,000 just 7 years ago is now between $350,000 and $400,000.   The people here that owned houses before have benefited greatly, but do not live extravagantly because they cannot afford to live that way.   All to say, we need help, a hard thing to admit.

The amount to raise, $100,000 is in all reality on the low side, but we are hoping that if God allows us to reach this goal plus the amount that we already have saved, that we can approach one of the banks.  This amount would be more than the normal down-payment lowering their risk and praying that they would accept it.

The housing cost item in our financial support is by far the largest item which makes our support #'s skyrocket.  We feel is God permits this Go Fund Me to work, that it would greatly reduce our support #'s and make it easier for all involved, us and our financial partners.  In other words, we feel this helps be better stewards of God's resources and time.

Would you pray for this housing need?  Would you pray for our familie's stability?   Would pray about what God would have you to do to help?

Thank you for considering this need.

Current Living Situation: The last two years we have been living in this 650 Square Foot, 2nd Floor above my in-laws house (they are chilean).  No Kitchen.  To eat we have to go outside the independent entrance/stairs, to go down to the main house kitchen and share it with our my wife's family.   They have been wonderful, so thankful God using them to "save us" in our time of need.
