Hello everyone, my name is Derick Hairston “Tray” on June 8th 2019, I was involved in a hit and run accident on my motorcycle. A car hit me from
behind my motorcycle and I was thrown off it. I have substained a numerous amount of injuries including a brain injury as well. Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet, which saved my life. I was ICU in GW hospital in DC for several weeks in cricitcal condition and spend some time at Rehab. I still have a long road for recovery as I attend therapies and doctor’as appointments daily. I am unable to support myself and my family and will not be able to work until I recover from my severe injuries such as vetebre fractures on c6 and c7 , leg fractures, arm and hand and shoulder fractures in many places, a brain injury and femur fractures in places. I am just very happy to be alive and I am fighting to get where I was or better than I was.. I am thankful for my family and friends’ support during this difficult and challenging time in my life.
