Meghan Eby's Cancer Journey

Donation protected
Meghan and Steve Eby, very close friends of mine, began their “Cancer Journey” in mid-August of 2019 when Meghan started noticing pain in her abdomen. Fast forward through lots of testing and lab work to the beginning of November when Meghan finally had her first chemo treatment to battle ovarian cancer.

Going into her first chemo treatment, Meghan knew her journey wouldn’t be easy, but she was armed with hope, her faith, and the love and support of her family and friends. Then the next day came, bringing with it lots of uncontrollable nerve pain, some nausea, vomiting, and all the other usual side effects.

It was her love for her family that saw Meghan through the aftermath of that first chemo treatment. She desperately wanted to fight to live to be there for Steve and their girls, Kennedy and Emily.

Steve has been by Meghan’s side throughout the fight, researching holistic programs that can wrap around the traditional medical treatments—anything to ease her suffering from the side effects. Some are simple ideas while others are more involved, but one thing they’ve noticed is that not much of the cancer business is cheap—and it easily adds up.

That’s why I’m setting up this Go Fund Me account for Meghan and Steve. Even though insurance will cover part of Meghan’s treatments, the Ebys still have quite a fight ahead of them, and they will need help for their journey. Spare money will help fill in the blanks that insurance leaves behind and can support the entire family as Meghan fights her cancer. Quite frankly, sometimes just having a spare $40 to pick up take-out for dinner can put everybody in better spirits.

The Ebys are very thankful for everyone who has offered support so far. They have found it all very humbling as they have accepted flowers, cards, bibles, blankets, care packages, meals, and even the simple text messages from loved ones checking in. Meghan credits the Lord for giving her peace and the support of her family and friends through each step of her journey so far. Let’s help her and her family continue to feel our love and compassion during this difficult time.
