#WalkAndTalkMMH Mens Mental Health

Donation protected
We are all affected by our own stories and experiences of suicide, and like us, you will be shocked by the statistics and determined that nobody should go through these feelings alone. Our mission began in 2015, bringing Fulham FC fans together, walking and talking to away games, raising funds and awareness. Fast forward to the present day, over 9,500 miles later, the fan community and support has extended to many football clubs, and lots of feet now pound the pavements. More importantly, we have sparked countless conversations with men regarding mental health.

Our outlook was simple…if we can just help one person. The reality is, there are so many people we have now helped and supported, and we want to expand this network far and wide. We’ve found a way of supporting men to get help before they fall. In 2020/21 we’ll be launching something really special to bring this to a whole new, bigger audience.

If you’ve been personally affected by suicide, depression, and mental health difficulties, then we need your help.

#WalkAndTalkMMH's 2020 started differently...as many welcomed in the new year, a group of football fans united, walking and talking 44 miles through the night from Reading FC to Fulham FC. Why? Christmas and New Year can be a difficult time for people for a whole host of reasons, and the group wanted to ensure nobody feels alone, open up conversations on mental health and prevent male suicide. The walk took 18 hours, in that time 9 men will have committed suicide. This has to change.

The NYE walk was the start of a number of events in 2020, but lockdown had a big impact on our plans and ability to fundraise. We have a number of events over the coming months, but will be subject to change dependent on any Covid-19 restrictions. There has never been a more important time to be open about our mental health and we are reaching out to new Football Clubs, and more new fans will join us, all of whom are passionate about making a difference. Our 2020 #WalkAndTalkMMH events are:
* 31 Dec - 1 Jan: Reading FC to Fulham FC
* 11 Jan: Arsenal (Waterloo) to Crystal Palace
* 31 Jan - 1 Feb: Chesterfield FC to Notts County FC
* 14 - 15 Feb: Livingston FC to Rangers FC
* 15 Feb: Welling Utd to Dulwich Hamlet FC

* 7 Mar: Dulwich Hamlet FC to Wealdstone FC
* 7 July: Fulham FC to Crystal Palace
* 8 Aug: 24 hour walking relay of Haywards Heath Town FC

Please donate to our events, that will help fund and kick start a new nationwide initiative to give men, women, and families a completely new source of support. 2020/21 is the start of something truly magical and you too can be part of this life changing and life saving project.

Together, we can be the change.
