Replace stolen work tools

We woke up this morning to find someone had completely cleaned out my husbands work truck of all his tools (he’s an electrician). The truck locked but someone cut into the door handle and popped the rod. The company he works for only has liability insurance on the truck so they won’t cover it, we live in a very small apartment complex with limited parking so since the truck was parked out at the street and not actually on the property, rental insurance won’t cover it. So now the only way for my husband to continue to work is to replace the tools out of pocket, which will be close to $5000. We live paycheck to paycheck and already we’re trying to figure out how to tell the kids we would not be having a Christmas because money has been so tight.
