Let's begin with a little story. As far back as I can remember I was infatuated with music. I took piano lessons at age 5 and listened to the radio wherever I was. I even carried around a portable radio and tape recorder all through elementary school. My love for music never stopped and it is stronger than ever as an adult. While I haven’t made a career out of being a musician, I spend a good portion of my free time writing music and running an independent record label in hopes that one day I can do this full-time. Though I thoroughly enjoy my career in software I’d take writing and running a record label for other artists in a heartbeat. Therein lies the challenge!
Family responsibilities come first and foremost. I’ve been dealing with challenges my whole life and God gave me the biggest challenge of all, a child with ASD. There are days my wife and I want to jump out the window but we always remain stronger than the urge to quit. Thankfully, my son has made great strides due to the help we get him. He is verbal and extremely smart but struggles mightily in social aspects of the world. In many ways, he mirrors me when I was his age. So, what did I do? Turn to music of course. I believe this is why I enjoy music so much. The freedom of expression, the melody, the harmony, and ability to share my emotions with others through music. In many ways, this is what keeps me moving.
Now comes the difficult part for me, asking you for help to keep my Independent Record Label moving. Our label is always looking for musicians and artists who want to share their music and emotions through creative expression. I know there are many others like me out there and I want to make sure they can get the opportunity to distribute music and learn from all the struggles I went through during my 25-year process of writing and release with the label. Any donations you provide will help us fund equipment, software, recording, marketing, and releasing our music! You are not only helping me as a person reach my dream, you are enabling me help others make their process smoother and less stressful.
