Sophie recently received her acceptance into the Masters of Science (MSc) program for Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. It has been a life goal to reach this point, but the costs of the two-year program and living expenses are more than her finances can support.
She is using student loans to pay for the maximum amount permitted for tuition costs. Her family is working to cover the difference to support her education abroad, but an expensive surgery for her mother to treat Sciatica pain cuts deeply into their savings.
At the current time, there is not enough to cover the projected budget for Sophie, even with borrowing from family and friends, student loans, and other income sources. That’s why she is turning to the community for help.
The goal of this effort is to cover the budgetary gap so that Sophie can pursue her graduate studies. Funds that go beyond this amount will be used to offset the student loan amounts that can have interest rates above 7%.
If the budgetary gap does not get covered, then it is highly likely that she will need to decline this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
