The beneficiary, Ana Robledo, is Kayla’s mom (remarried) and managing the funds.
UPDATE: We will be using this funding to help pay for a helicopter tomorrow to take a small team on a search. That is why you see the increase in the goal amount.

On Thursday October 24th, Kayla Rodriguez and Justin Winfrey departed on a small private hangar airplane fight from Novato, CA’s Gnoss Airport and headed north to Shelter Cove, CA for dinner at approximately 6:22pm. Justin was piloting, Kayla was a passenger. Kayla was wearing a Coral / Orange sweater, black leggings and carrying a white purse. Justin was wearing a blue Warriors shirt, khaki cargo pants and a fedora-esque hat. The plane is a Piper Arrow, tail number # N4958J. At approximately 7:45pm Kayla and Justin landed at the Shelter Cove airport and went for dinner at a nearby restaurant called Gyppo Ale Mill. At approximately 8:50pm, Kayla and Justin took off from Shelter Cove airport heading back toward Novato, CA.
They never made it home.
We are coordinating a Voluntary Search and Rescue effort, and ALL funds from this GoFundMe will be will be used to get supplies like radios, tree tags, emergency packs, first aid kits, Command Post materials, hotel rooms, camping utilities, etc.
We have very little experience in this part of Northern California, but we know it is dangerous terrain.
***WE ALSO NEED LOCALS WHO KNOW THE AREA, SEARCH AND RESCUE PROFESSIONALS WHO KNOW BEST PRACTICES, AND LOCAL OFFICIALS WHO CAN HELP LEAD THE EFFORTS.***
