Over the last couple years I started to experience pain and symptoms of frequent headaches, numbness, shaking and tingling in both arms. I was already being treated for bilateral carpal tunnel and tennis elbow both needing tendon releases with 2 surgeries already scheduled. My Sports Medicine Dr of over a year decided to order a C Spine MRI as well as a mammogram with hope to see what might be causing the new symptoms.
Immediate attention needed to be focused on the discovery of Follicular Hurthle Cancer Cells on my Thyroid. After a 2nd opinion and an additional biopsy both with the same findings and the 2nd showing lymph node nodules as well. I had a lobectomy of my thyroid and removal of my isthmus on
Dec 4. I am excited to share the surgery was successful.
Unfortunately, on Dec 26 my arm injury was worse than anticipated. What was supposed to be two procedures with under a month of recovery became 4 procedures with 6 month recovery and a weight restriction of under 5 lbs an additional 3 months recovery with 10 lbs. With a new diagnosis of degenerative tendinopathy.
I'm a single mom and I solely provide for an amazing daughter on a strict monthly budget. I'm an independent massage therapist I have tried to make ends meet this month by offering 1 hr sessions purchased by end of 2019 that I will turn to 90 min sessions to be redeemed in 2020.
My long time diagnosis of depression and anxiety have increased drastically.
I have always been a very independent and strong woman. I find myself feeling overwhelmed most of the day. My pride is struggling as I believe asking for help or assistance and admitting you can not do it alone is tacky and irresponsible. However, I know I will not be able to make ends meet on my own this time.
I'm asking for prayer, for hope, patience and understanding. I will take some stress out on the ones that are closest to me. I will have moments of complete frustration and despair, however, I will get through this.
