We All Rise: African American Resource Center is a nonprofit organization located in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. For the past three years, we have been committed to serving black youth and their families through our after-school program. Over that time, we have been able to engage over 150 African American families in learning about healthy relationships and black history and culture. The vision of our current prevention initiative is to bring our families together to create necessary change while providing a safe place where our young people can be unapologetically free. We have realized that in order for our vision to become a reality we need to serve both the youth and their families in a more holistic way. This very work formed the vision and mission of our new nonprofit organization We All Rise: African American Resource Center.
Our organization desires to meet the basic needs of our clients while providing a comprehensive set of healing services (Mental Health, Victim Health, Education Services, and Holistic Supports), for our African American community members at no cost to them. We currently have a staff of 6 (1 executive director, 2 psychologists, 2 crime victim advocates, & 1 prevention educator) that work very closely with a host of committed community volunteers. As we continue our work, we are more committed than ever to our mission.
We cannot do this work alone, we need YOU to help celebrate, uplift, and support Black lives in Green Bay, WI. In October of 2019 we were honored to receive grant funding from Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) which has allowed us to expand our work greatly. VOCA funding is a reimbursement grant which means we have to spend the money and then are reimbursed for it later. Because we are a new organization, we are still working to build up our cash flow. We are looking to raise $21,000 so we can serve our clients month to month without any interruption of services.
Between Giving Tuesday to the end of 2019 we are looking to raise $21,000 for our work. We hope you will join us in work of meeting the basic needs of our clients while providing a comprehensive set of healing services. Whether you are looking to donate $50, $5, or $500 donations of all amounts are an investment in our work. Whatever you can give, please take a couple minutes to donate to help us get one step closer to reach our goal of raising $21,000.
